42 unusual places to see, eat, drink and pause

Small wonders
When you travel what makes you smile is often what you did not expect: The quirky local bar, the surprisingly silent courtyard or the generously talented art exhibition. Most travel guides will try to tell you everything about a city. At A Book From Lind, we aim to tell you only about a few handpicked places. For those who value the low-key, organic, local and unusual. We want to take travel back to basics and go for the small wonders.
Joy of the moment
A Book From Lind is the result of two people wanting a life more free. We quit our jobs and sold our house to have more time to spend with our family and friends - and to start our own little publishing company. We believe passionately that simple is better. We won’t overload our guides but give you those things that differ them from the rest. We value time over money and slow over fast.
We research the city the old-fashioned way. We ask people we meet for the best and unusual and we spend lots of time trying out lots of places before selecting a handful to recommend.
We publish the old-fashioned way too, in print. We believe it's a true joy to navigate the streets with a beautiful easy-to-use map in hand undisturbed from emails or phone calls. We'll simply give you a good selection of fine places that will fit in your pocket and help you enjoy the moment.
Our first few guides are on Rome, oh Rome! We love the city, its warm afternoon sun, cooling fountains and friendly people. And we lived there for a while after deciding to change our lives.
Slow travellers
Jakob Vestergaard is a writer and travel editor for the Danish newspaper Information and previously headed of digital edition of Politiken’s travel book series Turen Går Til. Tine Lind is an art historian and designer with a passion for organic food and slow travel. She used to work as a communications consultant for the Danish Guide and Scout Association to inspire and engage both children and adults in active life. We journey the world with our two young children and publish travel guides for small wonders.

A propos de ce numéro

This carefully curated, personal and witty mapguide explores the more unusual of Rome’s three wonderful neighbourhoods Centro Storico,Trastevere and Monti – all on one piece of paper.
A tiny café with a Friday night DJ and a hip organic restaurant. New artistic talent and stunningly tasty ice cream. A truly local bar for espresso, music or a flavory drink. And a hidden green garden to pause and think. All sorted in four sensible categories:
- Out of the ordinary: Great little places to explore
- On the table: Delicious eats and treats
- Pause and think: Quiet corners and green retreats
- To your health: Vino! Gelato! Caffè!
Our guide comes with an easy-to-use map to navigate the side streets and quiet piazzas. We believe it's all you need to uncover the smaller wonders of this great city. Enjoy, and enjoy Rome.
